Local Political News

Our goal is to make Chester County Truth Squad your primary source for local and county political news. We are focused on restoring true old-fashioned investigative journalism to Chester County.

Investigative journalism involves exposing the public to matters that are concealed, either deliberately by someone or some group in a position of power, or unintentionally due to lack of knowledge and understanding.  Conventional news sources in the region are either subject to money constraints or other pressures to withhold all the facts.  We will work to remove those boundaries by reporting the facts because we do not have the same financial constraints nor are there any pressures to hide the truth.

In the next coming weeks we will start “publishing” the true facts about various political officials.  We will show how they have used their connections to push their agendas as they advance their political aspirations for a higher office.  We will show their past in a whole new light. We will start to draw the lines and connect the dots.

You may think twice the next time you vote.  Is he or she really a Republican? Or perhaps, he or she may claim to be a Democratic but in fact is a “closet” Republican.  You may be surprised what you read. It may change your total perspective of local and county politics.

We will look into this and post more information as soon as possible. We assume this will be an open Town meeting but most likely there will be limited seating.

Wow, the West Chester School Board actually voted to increase taxes! Did they not promise and pinky swear NEVER to increase them. Looks like the metal hit the road and there was no choice. They should have done this last year. Kudos to them! Doubt the Republicans will get re-elected now- the campaigned on a promise they broke, thus forcing people in the premier gated community of Hershey’s Mill to now have to sacrifice…maybe not pay their children’s bills, maybe not go out to dinner so much, maybe…omg…give up something. Way to go Republican board members- you finally saw reality and voted appropriately.

  4. Delco Dem says:

The Delaware County Democratic party is growing stronger every day- last week had our dinner- about 300 people attended-including Joe Sestak-don’t know what his plans are yet.
My Chester County Dem friends tell me their party is dying….under 75 people at their fundraiser the same night. Wake up CC Dems- this is the year to make a difference-

    • polvoyeur says:

Yes, Delco Dem- David did a great job on his dinner….even Joe Sestak showed up…wonder what he’s running for..got any idea? Maybe Gov? If you look at the local democratic parties in Pa you see growth in many but Chester County ain’t one of them. I don’t think they even have a headquarters. ….their state house reps all got wiped out big time 2 years ago. Doesn’t say much for the party there.
Lancaster County is a committee with conviction- check out their website http://www.lancasterdems.com

If your a democrat- vote for Bret Binder so he can defeat Dan Truitt for State Rep – http://www.bretbinderforpa.com

    • Barbara Hall says:

I have never heard of him. What are his chances of winning? Dan seems to be well liked so it’s going to be another close race.

      • Tony says:

If you are a dem you’ll hear more about Bret. He has a very good chance of beating dan. Truitt co sponsored the Womans Right to Know Bill which would force women to have an invasive procedure if they choose abortion. As a man, I want the women in my life to make their own decisions in such personal matters. The Republicans are upset about the Feds mandating that everyone buy health insurance yet they will mandate that a woman have a vaginal ultrasound against her will and at her expense? No way. I think men will join women in voting against Truitt for this one. I can think someone is a nice person but when Truitt co sponsors such legislation, then he has to go.
None of us knows what tomorrow will bring- what horrible thing can occur and to put a woman through this, it’s wrong.
You should learn more about Bret as the primary approaches.

  6. Tony says:

Glad to see there is a democratic candidate who opposes HB1077 and Dan Truitt- http://westchester.patch.com/articles/state-legislature-candidate-criticizes-truitt
Those of us in the 156th need to pay attention to what Truitt is voting for and sponsoring…he needs to go.

    • Delco Dem says:

No clue what Sestak is up to but it’s something. Governor is a good guess…even the Republicans are unhappy with Corbett. He could be a one timer.
I’ve heard good things about Lancaster Dems- Berks is as much a mess as chester county- the chair up in Berks lost a lot of his executive committee…they walked out. Montco Dems have made positive strides too… so it can be done.

this is very hard to reply to- can’t read the captcha easily…so you repeat

  8. Ryan says:

As a father and grandfather I worry about my girls. If any of them were raped I wouldn’t want them to keep the kid and wouldn’t want them to have a painful test before they could have an abortion. We need to vote all these bums out- rep or dem or ind- whoever votes for this.

  9. Ryan says:

As a father and grandfather I couldn’t agree with you more. If my daughter or granddaughters are ever raped, I wouldn’t want them to be forced to have the kid, and certainly not a painful procedure before their abortion. We need to vote everyone of these bums out of office.

  10. Anna says:

State Rep. Dan Truitt is a co-sponsor of HB1077 that would require women to undergo a trans vaginal ultrasound prior to the most private procedure- an abortion. They call it the Woman’s Right to Know Bill which is bull.
Dan Truitt doesn’t believe in a woman’s right to choose, he doesn’t believe that victims of rape and incest should have the right to choose, he doesn’t believe in incest and he wishes he had the courage to block clinic doors. I know because I emailed him in 2010 so I heard it from the horse’s mouth. Now he would have every woman and a woman/child who were victims of violence- undergo a transvaginal ultrasound- referred to in Virginia as ‘state sponsored rape’ before undergoing a legal abortion.
I urge all women to get the full list of co-sponsors of HB1077- call them- then VOTE AGAINST THEM in Nov. To see a list of representatives go to http://www.handsoffpa.com . If your rep isn’t listed, call him/her to see if they are co-sponsoring this bill.
It’s time that we women stand up for our rights and stop this bill. The Republicans are using Virginia’s play book…hopefully the PA Senate will be wiser than the House and stop this bill should it pass the House.
If you don’t believe in abortion, then don’t have one. For those who go through the very difficult decision of choosing one- leave them alone. It’s very personal and not your business or the governments!
